The fourth Pro-Am Sculpting Competition ran a little later than scheduled (!), but the results were a fantastic collection of figures. Thanks as ever to our fantastic judging panel of Kev 'Goblinmaster' Adams and legends of fairy Brian and Wendy Froud as well as Mark "UnclEvl" Booth (assisted by the missus, Dr Pam Wood). Due to the delays in production, and in fairness to the sculptors who were waiting to get their miniatures into production, the figures were only available for ONE MONTH, from May 1 to 31 2008 The Seelie Court decreed that the winners set should cost only 9 pounds, including a flat postage fee - they must be away with the fairies! Anyone buying these figures (or any of this years' packs) also received a free PDF copy of Woteva Games' "Wylde Hunt" game, developed especially for the competition. Why not pop along to the products page to see if any of our other figures could smarten your collection? The winners were as follows: Fae, or Fey? Victoria Lamb's fantastic ?"Fairy"? figure - don't tell him his tutu doesn't fit, or he'll glamour your haircut! Kev "Hasslefree" White's Oberon is a gargant, in all departments! About 45mm from foot to horn tip and mean as a box of badgers, its easy to see why Titania chose him as her consort (no, because he is really strong, what is the matter with you people?). Simon Fraser's "Bridge Troll" figure is a classic fairy tale horror, 29mm to top of head but with great big hands to throw bits of bridge at passing tourists. Hang about, we're not done yet! The last piece is The Hanger Gnome, a beautiful (and creepy) display piece by Tony "Nym" Robillard, about 55mm with tree. Click on the thumbnails below for a beter look at the figures...

Set Two of the 2007 FU!UK Pro-Am Sculpting Competition release consisted of the figures that just missed out on the top places. Selected to give you the widest range of figures (each is by a different sculptor to the figures in the winners set), the 2007 Runners Up Set brought yet more faery goodness (and wickedness) for a magical £8 (inc. P&P). For maximum faery fun both the Winners and Runners Up figures were available in The Complete Set - The Unseelie Dealie for a discounted price of £16 (inc. P&P), with a free Colonel Marbles figure (by Shane Hoyle) thrown in.
"Pay Attention! You can add the Colonel to your order for only 2.50 GBP... or buy the Unseelie Dealie and get him for free! " |
