Actually? I think both Pelosi and Putin are counting on that. They don’t want an impeached Trump, but a terminally hamstrung Tump.

Putin would have “won” the 2016 election, no matter which Yank won.
He was definitely not impressed with Hillary’s tenure as Secretary of State. He would have been just as happy with her vs Trump.
As for Trump. Yeah. He’s not impressed with him either.
Who on the Democrat team frightens him? Ok. I’m waiting. Take your time. BUZZZZZ. Time’s up.
Does Trump frighten him? Snort.
Putin is good for 2020. No matter who.

Which one would you jump on a grenade for?
Or will you settle for last man (or whatever) standing?

Jump on a grenade? WTF?

On the "whatever", I guess the word you must be trying to think of is "woman". :D

Do you have an emotional investment in any of the Democrats?
Is that better phrased?

I'm not picking anyone till March 2020 and the Oklahoma primary. But I will vote Blue no matter who on Nov 3rd.
Right now 18 Republicans in the House will not run for re-election in 2020, 8 of them from Texas. Texas!!! Texas could go Blue in 2020 or 2022.

No -- not in the sense that Trump voters have an "emotional investment" in the Cheeto. Of course, that's really all they have.

In an “ordinary” presidency, that’s irrelevant this far ahead of the next election.
However, this is far from ordinary. :D
What it does is stiffen the spine of wobbly congress critters.
Or, it may loosen it.
It means that they may, or may not, have the courage to follow their consciences in re Trump.
Politicians being spineless weasels who think the office is theirs by the Grace of God, are terrified of numbers like that. They don’t know what to do! The People may get upset and hold them to account!
