If you have Xfinity in the States, Roku has a specific purpose. It can replace the set top auxiliary boxes so you don’t have to pay a rental fee on them.
If you get any tv with “ internet apps”, you still have to pay a subscription to things like Netflix or HBO Go. All a Roku does in that case is give you an easy path, but you still need to pay the subscription.
