Great Unclean One

Postby CrumbReaper » Mon Jan 09, 2017 10:48 pm

Too tight to buy one of the lush Forgeworld ones and need an excuse to try full figures so thought I'd have a bash at this
for my own 40k army!

Start is wire coathanger, garden wire, loads of turkey foil (dead cheap after xmas!!) and some masking tape. Next phase will
be a thin skin of Aves Apoxie Sculpt to provide a solid base to work over. Feet not bulked out yet, waiting on some 130mm round bases
and will fix it to that before doing them

Will be watching this with interest.

But what about making it three-legged? GUOs are so massive that I doubt two legs would be able to support their weight. And three legs would tie with the three circles Nurgle symbol.

I know what you mean but the issue I'd have with sculpting 3 legs is that it always looks wrong, so my thinking is it will be holding the sword like a wizard holds it's staff, so
it is effectively using 3 limbs to move.

I like the artwork that shows GUO still walking rather than so obese they are sitting down, the main images I'm using to work off are

and this one for the sword hand - although I'll be putting that into the other hand and a flail into this one

Does it have to have a sword? Why not a scythe? It would then be easier to pull off the supported pose (and would be the perfect cliched weapon for Nurgle.

Nice suggestion I like that, will dig out the rules for a GUO and check what's what but a scythe would be a lot better than a sword
