Not a putty pusher...

Coreheim's even more niche than Mordheim, so I'd stick to the latter and official warbands if I were you. Still leaves plenty of choice as the original rulebook warbands were supplemented with Dwarfs, Orcs & Goblins, Beastmen, more human mercenary types etc.

Best place for Mordheim is Tom's Boring Mordheim Forum which still gets some traffic. Great source of inspiration, ideas & advice. One of the posters there maintains onedrive folders of game-related materials - https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21AByFcnV1qMjZdzg&id=2B7C1D22EA7D959%21153&cid=02B7C1D22EA7D959

For one chap's recent(ish) thoughts on proxy models, see http://yodhrinsforge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/alternative-mordheim-model-megalist.html. It's far from exhaustive.
