Gillian Anderson

When the X-Files was on all my chums used to lust over her, and I never really saw the attraction - oh she was nice-looking, but nothing magically wonderful, and their desire for her was almost ludicrously intense.

Well, 20 odd years later I see her in a lot of stuff, and by god she doesn't appear to have aged a day. And she strikes me as more and more lovely.

Not really looking to start a discussion, just saying is all.

Because of X Files I always thought she was American.
I heard that she was British, but it still didn't sink in. Then I heard her speak in her British accent. It was weird. Because I had been so certain she was American it sounded (to me) like an American actress doing a Jane Austen voice. Just didn't seem right on her, even though it was her natural voice. Odd.
I do get the Gillian Anderson thing though. A couple of years ago I saw her as Miss Havisham in a TV adaptation of Great Expectations. I'm pretty sure we're not meant to fancy Miss Havisham, but I really fancied in that role. Don't read anything into that.

I thought the same.
Bizarrely it was her part in the Last King of Scotland that was the turning point for me.

She's in a detective show that my wife is watching, called The Fall. She does look pretty amazing.

She's actually from Chicago, but Wikipedia says part of her childhood was spent in the UK, part in the US. I've heard her use both accents in interviews.

Yep, watching her in The Fall was a bit of a revelation for me.
