Nice. Are they trying to blend in with disguises they've thought up by intercepting TV broadcasts or something?

yes I know they are very niche, but I hope they'll find their public of imaginative players, painters or just collectors of fun and cute minis!

yes that could be an explaination, or maybe they are just cosplayers!

I suspect the scientist are real ones though, doing real experience and one of them had a bad experience with a human corpse that curiously got reanimated and managed to bite him
you can see on the multi-angle pics that he almost got his big fat juicy brain eaten ;)

And he was just funded, at least in resin! There is now a pledge level just for him, or he can be added to another pledge
