Grimsby Wargames Club

It was a good show.

It gave me the chance to give the new chairman of Grimsby Wargames Society a copy of the Police letter advising them of their conduct with regard to two (now ex) members of the club with disabilities, including me.
The incidentsIncluded ( but we're not limited to) such gems as " the best way to deal with disabled people at the club is to ban them" said not once but twice at an AGM A joke apparently?? A couple of weeks after I was diagnosed with MS. Bet he wouldn't crack that hilarious jest at any other public meeting or if his wife had been present ?

" people like you withMS should do your gaming elsewhere" Said by the then chairman a few months before his request came true, but at a cost to them of over £1000 in legal fees

My colleague who is partially sighted being referred to as "the creature" and a one eyed B@@@@rd in front of a group of his friends at their first visit to the club

Followed by a letter being delivered continuing the offence to one of us,some weeks after the police letter was sent (how thick can you get)

Amongst other physical and verbal threats and general messing about with our gaming nights including such adult behaviour as hiding our scenery in different parts of the building, which were hard to access(oh how we all laughed!)

All these incidents were witnessed and have been recorded together with copies of emails, which I will happily bring along to any shows if you pm me.

As the committee and office holders are also the ones who deal with disputes, and were the key players in these incidents we left! Guess what they are still on the committee with no sanction or punishment so it looks like their attitudes are acceptable behaviour in that particular establishment

Grimsby Wargames Club has a terrible history against people with Disabilties, i was told by the then chairman in front of members that people with multiple sclerosis should get thicker skins and it was right that they should be banned from the club, also told me the full committee fully supported it and i had to tell him to stop laughing in my face a number of times, three times to be precise.

My daughter is 15 years old and has multiple sclerosis, lost the sight in one eye and her walking is very poor, she also has short term memory lost, the amount of verbal abuse was directed at my family with mail coming through my letterbox ect.. in the end i had no choice but to get the police involved.

Grimsby Wargames Club has been very open about this, i find it very sad that grown men feel this way about disabled people

I'm going to split this; not because I don't think its important, but because I do.

What a set of cunts.

Everything that's wrong with the hobby.

I'm glad when people get the authorities involved - this kind of behaviour has no place in society, and we should be fighting it in our hobby.

Speaking as a middle aged white man, middle aged white men make me sick, on a regular basis.
Wish I believed in karma, or better than that, that they consider their behaviour, offer apologies, and start acting like better citizens... But I rather suspect that, they all vote ukip, have tiny dicks and never get laid.

Absolute shitfucks. Like I said in the other thread, I (hope I) don't know a single person that would behave this way, simply staggering.

for those who don't enter the Froth Zone.

Stunningly bad behaviour, especially from the Chairman of any group. My previous club had some immature behaviour but nothing like that, in fact at one point their Chairman and most active member was wheelchair-bound.

I have a solution to the problem of club officials and committee members not being nice to disabled people. It involves lump-hammers being sharply applied to the knees of certain persons. After a few months, the treated individuals are likely to find themselves able to emphasise with some disabled people far more readily, particularly those with restricted mobility.
