Next year's Salute game....

Postby --- » Mon Apr 27, 2015 1:30 pm

As Frotherheim was a complete success - and huge kudos to Ben, Pete, Mike and everyone who contributed it is only right that we start discussing/arguing/coming up with totally mad ideas about the next one.....

I've been toying with doing a game loosely based on the PC game Chaos (for the last 2 years  ) - I was originally thinking of making it look like the old speccy version using cut out acrylics matching the old speccy graphics, but one based on the newer version and using painted models may work better. simply X amount of wizards (8 in the original, 4 in the new one) have a random pool of spells (from chaos, law and neutral) to cast to try and defeat the other wizards. most are creatures to summon. something like this with limited spells randomly distributed might work. the mechanisms for working out casting etc can be simplified, same with combat. Call it Mage duel / Wizard Wars or something. Would need a few wizards painted up, a selection of mobs and some scenic pieces and some effect pieces.

Me too, and Mark as well (but he's Evil don'tcha know)

I also still like the idea of Crossbows & Catapults. We might be able to get flying lumps of lead past H&S if we provide welding masks

I've been pondering a game based on the old TTG scenario "Atttack of the Fungoid Trolls" for some years. It's a fairly basic setting with parties trekking into an incredibly dangerous fungusy forest to collect valuable "truffles" and getting them to safety. It would give those with the talent the chance to convert trolls, adventurers and other monsters into versions that have been infected by spores that turn them into crazed killing machines.

Frothers Drift wither the robots sounds great though...

The robots are kind of (very loosely) fungoid in appearance. Maybe they'll both work :)
