"Camel Up"

Has anyone else played this?

Ok the cover art looks like it's aimed at children but..

It's awesome!

You stack little camels, pull levers on pyramids, bet real [fake] money!

It's a really simple game but looks like it has a long life in it, you're basically betting on camels which move via the roll of a dice, but there is a bit more tactic than that! So it's pretty fast paced, and doesn't involve 3 hours of pouring over rulebooks and setting up a million pieces (the thing that usually puts me off boardgames)

Are the snakes and pigeons part of the gameplay? Sounds a wee bit like Formula D(e), but with more hair and spitting and less petrol and tyre rubber. :) If I thought I could bully some people into it, I'd be interested.

I've just realised how even better this game would be with real money and beer.

Yup I've played it. It's a great filler game - a lot of fun and not too taxing.
