Not sure why this is getting so many accolades, I thought it was pretty pedestrian. The ending is telegraphed from the beginning and there's no real suspense at all. It's trying very hard to be as good as Stalker, but failing.
When I die I want the Arsenal players to lower me into my grave so they can let me down one last time.

Haven't seen it yet - but you have made it sound rather crap. Which is a shame, as the book trilogy is pretty good

But then I think the crapness was telegraphed when the 2nd trailer was released.
The 1st trailer made it seem rather mysterious and deeply creepy.
Then the 2nd trailer was all "I love you", "budda budda" "Aiiieeeee!!!" "budda budda budda, bang bang" "No! Noooo!!!!" - Like someone had taken Movie Trailers for Americans rather too literally.

Will get around to watching it at some point, but if they wanted to remake "Stalker" they should have just re-animated Tarkovsky.
