Click on “Board Preferences”.

Click on “Edit Display Options”. Scroll down to options.

Set the option “Display Topics Ordering By” to “Views”.

That works amazingly well . The only drawback is you can't see any new topics (including your own )
and it only works for members .
Still , there are threads there I haven't seen in years .
On the Frothpot index page . Display topics from previous : 7 DAYS , Sort by VIEWS , DESCENDING, GO , to beat the spammers .

Odd - it's disappeared for me as well.
Doesn't appear to be Doc in either of his guises, it was working well after his last noted visit (I suppose there may be a back door)

All the porn spam will certainly scare any potential new posters interested in the hobby away from the site.
That Doc saw this and didn't do anything about it is extremely depressing. :(
Taking Captain of Ark B. up on his offer for a "truce" seems like the only option now. How about a preview Captain, clean the place up and maybe people will realise the truce is in their best interest (and to be frank it'd show if it could even be done, it seems like a lot of mess for one man to fix)

Frankly, all this site serves for anymore is mean — but generally honest — commentary on the hobby in general and TNP in particular. LAF and TWW and facebook give me my hobby news and views of others’ projects just fine.

If you want,

I can clean up, to the extent the rest of the forum, but i'd probably need to close the Froth Pot of a while whilst i did it and... I like ya'mam tidying up ya'bedroom, i'm gonna want to do things my way...
such as...
1) lock that thread
2) pin & lock the TMP Summery thread (until such time as editing become necessary)
3) Drop the hate, and love each other. If anyone has anything to say about how any other web sites are run, can i suggest they take it up with that third party, or get a blog... 6 years of writing about it here doesn't seem to have achieved much...

Locking the Thread that fears to speak its name seems okay to me.
Most of it is general bollocks anyway.
People are so invested in it they put any old crap in it. Part of that problem is that recently any new thread sinks without trace in a sea of spam, so any stream of consciousness topic gets bunged in there for visibility.

I don't see behind the curtain obviously but does 'cleaning up' the Pot include locking/blocking the 'member' spammers? If not all the 'acceptable' topics will drown again and/or make far more work or kill the whole site.

How long is 'a while'? I remember when terrorism legislation was a 'temporary' thing. :wry:

How we get gaming painting sculpting going again is another question I suppose.
I don't think the SC thread drove any/many away. An unanswerable question. Would any of the committee return do you think if that thread died? Or have they all just moved on/fallen out?

Anyway I reckon its worth a go if you are willing to go to the effort.
Thanks for at least engaging and having a positive approach - even if some of the old drunks in the corner are throwing the odd pint pot about.

(Is the loving each other bit compulsory? :| )

I suppose the bottom line for me is 'yes please'. :D

If you want gaming content go to TWW, or if you're desperate, LAF. The old Frothers ain't coming back, the 'committee' are all over on Randy Pillock dissing this place, and if the Sad Cunts thread disappears all that will be here is tumbleweed and spammers.

FFS how many more times do I have to type this? Can a 'member of the committee' make it a sticky?
