Spambot Invasion!

Postby Hermit » Sat Mar 29, 2014 5:06 am

Fuck me, they're everywhere!

I think the annonymous posting feature needs to be tightened up a bit to make it more difficult for these spambots to get on. I don't mean get rid of it completely. I just mean have another method of doing it as the question one is being easily bypassed.

Plus these spambot posts make the forum look cheap and abandoned (more than usual, I mean). Bastard spammers! I hope they all catch some nad shrivelling disease!

Agreed the bastards are everywhere, I've just reported over a dozen of the things. Something needs to be done about anonymous posting otherwise the mods will be knackered just deleting the things.

It's the bloody Russian maffia from the Ukraine. It started when Bronshtain started all the conspiracy theories.

Oh so they're spambots. I just though Tre and Brownlie had been posting without using a spell checker again.
I'd recognise that sound anywhere! That's the sound of a hundred heads deflating.

Originally I thought they were threads about painted figures of Mexican/Incan gods.

And a 'mark as spam' button would be a lot easier than faffing around with pasting links into another thread.

Be honest, this is Doc's attempt at an April Fool, right?

How is it that LAF and the Oldhammer forums don't appear to have this problem but Frothers does? What is they're doing that the cuntmittee (a little Red-ism there)isn't?
