I like that they're borrowing the EVE Online skill tree: skill training occurs in real time, so the advanced ones would take 30 days or more - I'd log in, purchase a skill, select it, log off and do something else.
Like EVE, player infrastructure is required, but taken to a whole new level: there are mining and manufacturing facilities, but don't recall the option of building a player run city. So feel free to build your kibbutz, with a unique political system, I'll sell you the weaponry, financing my Death Star...
