I started again at the weekend as I had a cold - thieving my way around the place.

Skyrim's the last place you want to be with a cold, bloody freezing weather.

I used to play Skyrim, and then I took an arrow in the knee.

I played a little more and then decided to get my fantasy armies out again and finish off a few figures.

Skyrim is one of those games where almost every single thing in the game is 90% good and 10% shit.

That's probably a better ratio than most games but holy shit is it infuriating when they get so close to nailing it.

If you like Skyrim, you should try Dark Souls. It's... similar.

It's similar in the sense that it's not similar at all. Like.. at all.

It IS a pretty good game though :)

Skyrim has swords, DS has swords. Skyrim has skeletons, DS has skeletons. Boom, similar. Completely comparable. Don't listen to this man. You'll have a jolly time.

Bloodborne out tomorrow!

FUCK YES! I'd be buying it tomorrow, but I'm saving it for this summer when the rest of the family is going out to visit the mother-in-law so I can just get lost in it.

It does look pretty spectacular doesn't it?

I am looking forward to seeing how the more counter-attack oriented gameplay they've talked about actually plays out. Could make for much more dynamic fights.

Looks like there is only one shield in the entire game (Guns are the parry mechanic), rolls are now more of a 'side step' which allow counter attacks, and you can gain lost health back if you attack back in a certain window. All seems to lead to a more 'attack' style, rather than the more deliberate style of the other Souls.
