Just get it, you know you want to :D

People on the Elite forums are questioning whether it'll be ready. I think they're confusing this game with Star Citizen, which probably won't see the light of day for another couple of years the way they're going.

Well, Frontier have decided to remove the offline play mode, thus causing the shit to hit the fan. And Michael Brookes's posts just seemed to enrage people further with people asking for refunds:

It would've been nice to have the offline version, though :(

This man is very angry indeed.

Looks like they've just shafted us offline people and are refusing refunds too.
Solo online is shit, I keep getting disconnected from the server.. meh.

i'll stick to Oolite (and it's tasty mods)
http://www.oolite.org/

I put in for the beta, waste of £55
Thanks a lot Frontier Developments & kickstarter!

I can't say I'm that bothered myself, they've retained the option not to play with other people. The having to be connected isn't a big issue to me because my machine is always connected and I rather like the idea of the universe evolving as a result of players actions regardless of whether I choose to see them in game or not.
Having said all that I wouldn't be surprised if they find a workaround.

Bit iffy dropping it when they promised it though.
if the server keeps kicking me out on the full release i'll be well pissed.
it's not like my broadband is crappy either.

Who knows perhaps i'll just stop being so antisocial and play it multiplayer?
I think I could possibly manage an "evil space pirate wendy" costume?

I backed Limit Theory and that's a one man show so he'll probably release that in 2018.

I'll probably play it multiplayer until I die once too often at the hands of some teenager.

(I also backed Limit Theory)

A game largely written by cunts, largely for cunts

He's got all the makings of a frother! We should invite him on here

They've rushed out their latest newsletter a day early for some damage limitation due to the premiere event in a few days time, but they've pretty much said the same things. Braben only hinted that there might be an offline game in the future, but that wasn't even a vague promise :(

Yeah, I'll still play multiplayer online, but it's still a bit of a bastard that offline's never going to happen. I think I'll buy Limit Theory when it comes out. If Josh Parnell can still manage his early 2015 release, then he will have done well.

I've just read newsletter #50
This is all a very bad PR move for FD and kickstarter.

I had to laugh at Mr Potty mouth.
I'm feeling a bit less Trumble Rage after seeing him..

I think Josh has done fantastic work with LT so far.
Oh well, no doubt Ian Bell is having a good laugh somewhere about all this?

Frontier have been trying to do alot of damage limitation since they announced the axing of offline in recent weeks. The latest one is that there'll be no wipe at the end of gamma:

I'm going to have to get some serious gametime in before the 16th. I've only got 50K in credits.
