Stand Still:Stay Silent

Gorgeous web comic mixing post-apocalypse with Nordic mythology: Stand Still:Stay Silent. I managed to read the whole thing on New Year's Day and had to then grab the author's previous Kickstartered webcomic A Redtail's Dream which is visually very similar but essentially serialises/simplifies the Kalevala.

Lovely stuff, especially if you like slow burn Ballardian/Drowned World post-apoc and/or mythology.

It really is amazing that the art is is good as it is at the rate the comic updates. Of course, with the exception of the scout and the big guy I have a hell of a time telling them apart (so their constant language jokes are lost on me) but that's small beans compared to the rest of the arc.

The author has said she likes to be about 10-20 pages ahead with finished art so she can maintain the release schedule. Her previous book mentioned above took over 2 years to complete (I'm still working through it at around 650 pages) and she's also annoyingly bloody young :)

Thanks for bringing this link here.

I still have trouble reading 'comics' though I love books and cannot settle with my screen into the same 'escapism' (must be an age thing) but I'm sure going to give this one a go as it looks fascinating from the few pages I've gone through so far.
