What Weird WW2 rules are out there?

Postby Australian Dawn » Mon Jul 24, 2017 7:34 am

I just bought the Konflikt '47 rules and they seem a bit generic and lacking in variety and adaptability as far as weird force choices go, and limited in force choice in general, no Japanese etc. (IMHO even the British and commonwealth forces seem like a bit of an afterthought, strange for a British game.) Also it's all set in Europe.
What other WWW2 rules are out there at the moment, and do you have any recommendations?

Thanks.

I'm a huge fan of Secrets of the third reich and the incursion board game but i know a fair few people arent that keen

i really like the wide range of stuff in the game and the fact that from its inception there seemed to be a good attitude to making up your own ideas and backgrounds and mixing and matching all sorts of figures, vehicles etc

its not had a great history in terms of Westwinds commitment to it but theres stuff on the horizon and the guys and gals who seem to be backing it seem like a really good and really keen bunch of people :)

For RPG / very small skirmish you could try Actung Cthulhu.

You could have a read of Dust - FOC at http://www.dustgame.com/downloadfile.php

Currently on sale are AE WW2 at http://www.wargamevault.com/product/642 ... Core-Rules

If you fancy play testing a set try http://www.weirdwwii.com but these are incomplete and in parts...

Last one I know is NUTS and its supplement http://www.twohourwargames.com/warwiendwewo.html

Secrets of the Third Reich sounds really interesting but I don't know much about Incursion, Is it based on the same setting?

I'd prefer a printed version to a PDF and I don't think I want to play test something (although the http://www.weirdwwii.com site looks interesting).

Does anyone know if this is the print version of the same AE-WWII rules?
http://blackballgames.bigcartel.com/pro ... n-rulebook
It looks good but seems to only cover the European theater, is it the current version of the rules and are there books covering the other theaters?

I'll have to look into Dust.

What sort of options for weirdness and force selection do these games have?

Thank you both for all the advice.
