Night of the Walking Dead

Postby Steders » Thu Jul 06, 2017 9:21 am

Picked up the Mantic Walking dead game and I really like it. Very simple rules, easy to setup and plays quickly. I started playing solo just to learn the rules and actually had a really good game. I would like a bit more crunch in the campaign rules that come in one of the expansions but I'm sure you could make up something more substantial.
I wanted to play night of the living dead and dawn of the dead rather than TWD. So I made some custom character cards and painted up some survivors as the cast from NOTLD. I also picked up the DOTD characters from studio miniatures.
First game Ben and Barbara need to reach the house. The pictures are about 8 turns in and Ben has already creamed half a dozen zombies. Barbara has run around like a jack russel on speed as her nerve is so low

Yes, it makes it even easier to hate the odious cunt. However, I do think I'm going to buy the game.

We've been flirting with the idea of 2HW's "All Things Zombie" for a while now.
(Confusion over editions and what's 'core' as opposed to 'supplement' has kept it on the back burner.)

TWD seems to offer a one-stop-shop for zombie mayhem.

Me too! Amazing detailed game I mean decorations and figurines of fighters! And how are you now? This game surely does not bother ever!

Bought ATZ. There is probably a good game in there but I didn't have the time to find it. The layout is atrocious, the tables overly complicated and its just a dice roll fest, 'roll to react, roll after reaction, roll to scratch nose'. I think some of the ideas in there are good, just not well implemented.
