I love it -- the Ripper Platoon.

Of course, I suppose most people buy that set because they want them all, but it reminds me -- to what creative uses do people put the various oddball/useless figures they end up with from packs? I once toyed with the idea of making up a regiment of the casualty carriers in the old Airfix Washington's Army set:

But I came to my senses. Anyone ever do anything like that? The Rorke's Drift scenario sounds like fun.

(Sorry to drift off topic).

That’s a casualty?! We always treated it as three drunk continentals.

In that case, shouldn't be difficult to assemble a regiment!

Lines probably wouldn't be very straight though. . .

And that's not mentioning the crawling and firing prone figures in that set.

On a related subject are the "what were they thinking?" figures that pop up from time to time. One example that comes to mind: when 19th Century Miniatures commissioned a Sudan line, they apparently trusted the sculptor to do his own research -- understandable, given the wealth of easily accessible sources. The results don't seem to have justified their confidence. Here's the "Dismounted Camel Corps" set:

Note standing camels, and "Camel Holder", second from right.

Ladders not included, for some reason.

That’s not bad!

I must admit, I fucking love the Llama Corps. I think I want one.

Yeah, that's another one I thought of doing. Maybe entering it in a painting contest as "HM Desert Hook and Ladder Corps".

Thought better of that too. Making fun of the makers' products doesn't lead to discounts.

BTW -- there seem to have been 2 or 3 Not David Bowie figures over the years.
