This week, Bozo also said he’s taking all money out of the social sciences, so good thing I’m self-supporting in my research.

Yeah but as the joke was running, it’s a great opportunity to become a vet and treat his family and supporters.

You know, I sometimes think that a study of the works of Jorge Ben Jor and the late Bezerra da Silva, should be mandatory amongst Brazilian students and indeed students of Brazil.

It’s hard to argue that Jorge wasn’t being prophetic, albeit in a sardonic manner here:

Ele chegou descontraído
Chegou filosofando num tom de voz meio angelical
Falando das coisas belas
E das coisas simples
Mostrando como o belo pode ser simples
E o simples pode ser belo, ai ai ai

You might want to suggest it to the Prez as his re-election campaign song.

Oh dear! Bozo's popularity plummeting faster than anyone could reasonably have expected. :D

O Estadão hardly being the most progressive of Brazilian rags.

O Globo was practically cumming its proverbial pants describing the failure of Bozo’s supporters’ demos on Sunday.

I think I am living in Bizarro Brazil.

The words of Charles de Gaulle finally make sense. "Le Brésil n'est pas un pays sérieux".

Of course, I think it was Sergio Buarque de Holanda who said “Long before DeGaulle uttered his famous words, every serious Brazilian knew Brazil wasn’t a serious country”.

Another joke goes that the U.S. should have let Brazil go communist in 1964: the Berlin wall would have fallen twenty years earlier. Let’s hope the same holds true for this neo-quasi-fascism that seems to be sweeping the world.

I wish Mac - but it's all dressed up as being "middle of the road" "liberal" here in Australia ....
