So you are a retired cop and live in a R$4.000.000 house right next to the President. You’re photographed with him. You are linked to a militia connected to the President’s son. His son even employed the wife and daughter of that criminal organisation on his official staff. Your daughter dated one of his sons and you are fingered for murdering a city councillor.

Surely it’s just an every day set of coincidences?

Really.

Ronnie Lessa, the newly arrested principal suspect behind last year's assassination of our friend, Councilwoman Marielle Franco, lives in an expensive house in an exclusive, small condominium in one of Rio's most expensive neighborhoods, Barra da Tijuca, which he bought with his pay as a retired sergeant of police.

Really?

And now the official line is that Ronnie killed Marielle because he had a personal grudge against her: no one ordered the very professional-style hit.

Really?!

And Ronnie got the bullets which killed Marielle and her driver Anderson from the Federal Police by stealing them all by his little own self.

Really?!!

And Ronnie's neighbor in this closed, exclusive, small condominium just happens to be Brazilian President Jair "Bozo" Bolsonaro.

Really?!!!

And in spite of said condo containing fewer than 150 households, President Bozo has never seen Ronnie in his entire life.

REALLY?!!!

Four to one both of the suspects die mysteriously in custody in the coming week.

Sound investments in his 401K?

At last they are as one. Bozo and the Gibbon basking in each other’s unpleasantness. They even share similar office dynamics, there’s something of a split forming on foreign policy within the Palácio do Planalto. I think the greatest threat to Brazil’s fortunes is likely to be how far up Trump’s arse Bozo will climb and how pissed off Brazil’s largest trading partner will become. Fun times ahead!
