How many and what kind of low level actions? Throwing out Johnson/Trump numbers won't fly, so show me your charts! Nobody believes the war wasn't lost, it's just that as long as there US troops in the Republic of Vietnam, the VC and NVA didn't win.

If you want to enlighten yourself somebody's put together a list of US tactical defeats at https://www.g2mil.com/lost_vietnam.htm

Hope this helps. I'm certainly not going to do any research for you.[/quote]
Does not help at all...

Isn't posting a link count as doing some research? If you want to be a cunt of a Johnson about it...

Cherry-picked narrative of 112 incidents, over almost a decade of direct involvement, does not count as many and Meyer - Tales of the American Empire - falls into the same body count/numbers issue that you whinged about.

Tempest in a teacup.
The OP wanted knockoffs, but they aren’t.
It’s like the old Flames of War argument that you can’t copyright a Sherman tank.
The models are cheap and shitty quality. If that’s what you want, no problem.
I had to laugh at the poster who was appalled by the lack of grooves on the tank. He’s probably still clutching his pearls and calling for smelling salts. He’s probably addicted to smelling salts.

Hearing yanks quibble about "AKSHUALLY WE NEVER LOST TACTICALLY" is like reading Nazi officers proudly proclaim how they won a glorious victory and destroyed 50 Amerikaner/Bolshevik tanks for only 2 losses, only each diary entry is 30 miles closer to Berlin and in the end, they're shocked how it got that way.

Just like you Brits...

Have you ever noticed the Commonwealth tends to have far more success on a fraction of the budget? It was certainly the case in Vietnam, then again they were better trained for the environment.

You have to be specific, as most are near failed kleptocratic states...

A fraction of the population means a fraction of the budget, unless it's a militaristic dictatorship with delusions of grandeur, like Saudi Arabia: The Biggest Military Budgets As A Share Of GDP In 2018 [Infographic] In 1968, the population of Australia was 12.01 million vs. the US' 207.7 million. BTW, Australia also lost the war, but hardly anyone talks about it, for the same reason the US did: unfavorable domestic public opinion.

Never said the US armed forces lost tactically, but the NVA and VC never won a battle, in the style battles in recorded history.

However they're quite enough to demolish your claim that "it's just that as long as there US troops in the Republic of Vietnam, the VC and NVA didn't win."

Could you explain how the action at Fire Base Ripcord, the last major battle fought by American troops in Vietnam, can be considered a victory in any way other than body count?

Victors don't normally retreat leaving artillery pieces behind, but 101st Airborne Division did.
