I've not seen them myself but that sounds like the kind of thing you'd find in The Works and places like that.

Bulk War Paperbacks

My dear wife, being the sort of lady she is (a)Loving, thoughtful and (b) Tight as a gnat's Chuff) bought me for Christmas a set of assorted books on the first and second world war, as a set, in a block wrapped in film - there were about 10 of them. Of the ten, about half are the usual piss-poor guff - 'I was Hitler's Lavatory Attendant' or 'Sexy SS! Pop-up book with 30 wipe-clean pictures' but several are rather good - 'Mud, Blood and Poppycock', 'No Empty Chairs', '6 weeks'.

The whole set cost about a fiver, and she reckons there were several different sets. But she cannot remember where she got them as she bought them back in June, on sale, for even less than the marked price(see (b) above). Anyone know what places sell these sets?

Pat
