Why does no one ever make the Martians look like the ones in the book? What is wrong with the physical description H.G. Wells gave that they think won't work on film? It says so much about where they came from and why they behave as they do, it clues the reader in on why germs are so effective, how they look is important! But the movies all think it's just meaningless details that they can switch out for whatever random BS they decide to pull out of their arse!
They're Iconic and we never get to see them! It defies all logic! Some studio exec says lets pay for the rights to make a movie about a classic, iconic and instantly recognisable alien species invading, and then lets not portray them anything like how everyone knows they look, we'll just pull a design out of our arse!
Would they do that to Giger's Xenomorphs?
Meanwhile on Dr Who cheap knockoff brand Wellsian horrors in saltshakers rake in millions...
