Surprising to hear.
I wonder what the real reason is?

To be honest, I haven't bought anything from a Bring and Buy for ages - it always seems to comprise lots of overpriced plastic GW stuff.
But I have sold plenty of stuff at them. Mind you, I buy less now and tend to buy those things I want rather than whims, so I have less stuff I want to sell.
Still think its a great shame it won't be there.

No, admittedly I have no idea what the turnover of the Bring & Buy actually is. So yes you're right it could be substantial.

Really? Don't SELWG take 10% of sales or something? I reckon that's probably all they get out of the deal.

All?

Where are they going to find a couple dozen more traders?
i guess that everybody that wanted to attend as a Trader last year did... there looked to be plenty of space around and about the place when i looked,
plenty of chairs, reenactments with tanks, 8 feet tall 70's board games... :loopy:
if a Trader had turned up late in the day, i'm sure they could have found 6, 12, 18 foot of space easy... :|

Has the B&B been run buy SELWG (not the Warlords) over the last few years?
Always used to be the case, going way back, it was like a Club support thing... Rope in the other London group, get extra bodies on the day, and be seen to support the gaming in the Capital. 8)
I wonder how much $$$ they have put into SELWG over the years, plenty i'm sure.

Yeah there might be a hidden agenda, but I've had so many conversations this year about the bring and buy, that Ebay had essentially turned it into a jumble sale of mainly second hand half painted GW plastics.
I think it has had its day, about two years ago my club put quite a few bits on the Salute bring and buy from a deceased members collection. We had to spend all day going back to see if any had gone and lower prices for the remaining bits and still ended up carting a lot of it back home. Ebay or direct sales on forums is a much better solution and there's little evidence to suggest you'll get a better bargin at the bring and buy anyway.

Dodging fat blokes with massive backpacks turning unexpectedly in front of you is part of the fun of Salute!
