For a fictional good read, try Alfred Duggan's "Elephants and Castles" about Demetrios 1 of Macedon. Great book.

If you can find a copy of "The Seleucid Army" by Nick Sekunda and illustrated by Angus McBride, you should buy it. It's a great resource on not just the uniforms but a bit of the history and tactics of the army as well. I understand the book is OOP and is hard to find now, but I see it pop up here and there.

OK

I have plenty of great books about Greece. I have my old History Textbooks, I have several serious /not so serious/pretty lightweight Histories.

They all stop, dead, with the death of Alexander, and then no-one seems to have given a damn about anything until the Rise of Rome.

Can anyone suggest a good History book on the period?
