hmm "Conservatives" have won the last few elections in AU mainly on the basis of keeping middle class wealth-fare .....
(ie Tax Breaks for Negative Gearing of mortgages on Multiple Houses, Tax Refunds for Franking Credits when no tax paid etc etc). I kid not. That is What our Economic Mining Boom was spent on. Sounds about the same thing. Obviously Bozo still has a few lessons to learn in Neo-Liberal philosophy.

It is what Bozo would like to do here, but we aren’t there yet. Soon, however, unless we are very lucky.

No, I'm thinking of Maduro and Venezuela.

Not here. At least not legally.

I think his model is actually more Hugo Chavez, only dressed in right wing garb. But yeah: deathsquads are passé. What we have now is “democracy” but murders and whatnot being allowed by “popular acclaim” when they are directed at “enemies of the people”.

I also think that, like many Brazilians of his color and class, Bozo would be absolutely pleased to see 5,000,000 dead citizens or so, as long as they are concentrated among the poor, black, and old. In fact, yesterday, one of he economic ministers flat out said that every retiree dead makes Brazil economically stronger. He’s more like a Cecil Rhodes in his intellectual lineage than a Mugabe.

I don’t know if we can call this “genocide”. Mass murder by proxy, at any rate.

It’s darkly hilarious, however, because Bozo is just so incompetent at it all.

If you want to know what Brazilian politics look like now, picture the Joker juggling babies and running chainsaws to the tune of “Yakkity Sax” (aka The Benny Hill Show theme).

difference is, my daughter's current lack of prospects is due to the reality on the ground. The threat to your lifer is the wannabe Walt Fantasy that appears to be one of the standard default settings of Yanks on these fora. Lesion and Mithmee and so on dream of the Blacks, or Gumbint rising up so they can fight back. You think the Government of Brazil give any more of a fuck about you than anyone on here does.

'You don' know what it was like man, you weren't there'

Er, no.

Living in Brazil is not a “Walt fantasy”. Neither is the work I do, which is amply documented in the public sphere (unlike any single thing you have ever done in your life, Pat).
And, like I have repeatedly stated (and the fact that you repeat the same bullshit lies as Randy Bill, usually in chorus, makes it pretty clear to me that at least one of these trolls is you, Pat) the Government of Brazil DOESN’T give a fuck about me or anyone like me.

That is precisely the problem.

Were something to happen, there’d be no support from the police whatsoever.

As for “wearing a bodycam” and this being a “fantasy”, a while back I posted the results of what happened when I pissed off a bolsominio just by biking where he wanted to go. I thought that would at least amuse you, seeing as how you’ve been saying for years now that you wanted to see me beaten in public. Got cricket chirps with that post, oddly enough.

In any case, the cops have the description, make, and license plate of the guy who did it and, for six months now, they’ve done sweet fuck all.

It is the withdrawal of any form of legal protection from those Bozo’s people consider to be “enemies” coupled with the simultaneous arming of Bozo’s grass roots supporters that is terrifying as fuck.

Yep. Although if you’re a citizen of Australia or the UK, you’re fooling yourself. Canada isn’t much better.

Well yeah, I'm not a citizen of the 'Free-est Country In The Whole Wide World' (thank you Mithee for that gem of wisdom).

Which probably means I have more options than you do as regards immigrants and non-domicile family members.
